Deciding if remanufacturing is the right thing for your product is not a simple process. To aid this decision, the Centre for Remanufacturing and Reuse has developed a series of tools and resources. These will guide you through the process of understanding how features of your product determine the best option for its end of life. Here is a quick guide to help you choose.
- The Remanufacturing Map is freely searchable database of remanufacturers, consultants, academics and others dealing with reuse in the UK. Using the filters you can narrow your search. You can also register your company to place it on the map.
- If you are considering remanufacturing a product, use our ReOpT tool to evaluate its suitability for remanufacture. You’ll be led stepwise through the short analysis and get a written assessment at the end. You can save your results and reload them in future. To use the tool you will need to register first.
- To reduce the impact of waste office furniture, the Centre for Remanufacturing and Reuse set up a one year collaborative project to identify and address some of the problems associated with reusing office furniture.
- Education and learning is a big part of our programme. We can design a course for you. Learn about the industrially focussed modules we can provide as well as the materials we have available for MBA and university design courses.
- If you are a potential buyer of remanufactured products, you can find more help about benefits, specifications and locating supplies of products.
- Do you have products that have reached the end of their life and would like to recover some value in the best way? Our reuse options page will guide you through the choices.
- Our standards page will tell you about work we’re doing to set remanufacturing standards and specifications for purchasers.
In addition to the above, we’ve developed an online resource for the textile industry. Corporate clothing is one of our major work streams and as such we have created an online resource to enable the efficient reuse of end-of-life corporate textiles, including an interactive database of sustainable industry members, tools to help in design and purchasing decisions and case studies of some of the best practice of the industry.
