Resource: Product Group Report: The Potential for Remanufacturing of Wind Turbines.
The CRR has completed an analysis of an emerging sector in the UK - wind turbines.
Monday, 20th July 2009
Although there's not much remanufacturing activity at present, the projected growth in the availability of these highly-engineered items suggests a rich opportunity for greater activity in the future. Older turbines are becoming available from Danish, German and Spanish farms as installations are reaching the end of their first life or are being re-wheeled (replaced by larger, more powerful modern units). With suitable renovation they could be cascaded into private and community projects. The report, which may be downloaded from this page, examines the potential.
