The project represents a capital investment of between up to US$100,000 in a Hudson Drive building the company owns. Operations once housed there were recently shifted to a Magnetech facility in Saraland, where 59 people work in industrial maintenance and repair of pumps, generators and electric motors. "We see a lot of opportunity in Alabama and the Gulf Coast," said John Martell, chief executive officer of South Bend, Ind. -based MISCOR. "We had the (Mobile) facility, and our option was shut it down or put it back to work. We decided to try and put it back to work."
