Remanufacturing
Joint CRR / Envirowise event - Thu 19 Mar 2009
The CRR and Envirowise are co-hosting an event, which will offer delegates an overview of remanufacturing and design for remanufacturing – both business systems and products – and explain what the CRR and Envirowise offer in terms of support for these.
This event will take place on Thursday 19th March at Maple House in Birmingham from 09:30 to 16:00. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
There will be presentations on:
Business design (i.e. business models to support and incentivise product remanufacture and reuse globally)
Whether to undertake product remanufacturing in house or whether to outsource (discussing issues of quality control, performance, brand image)
Key strategies to consider when designing products for a second or extended life (design for disassembly, etc)
Operational aspects of remanufacture and reuse (reverse logistics, core recovery, customer incentives
Following these presentations, there will be an interactive workshop to discuss the issues raised.
This free event will close with presentations on how eco-design and remanufacturing can help pull manufacturers through the difficult times ahead caused by the ‘Credit Crunch’.
